George R. Jr. Sorenson

Sorenson, George R. Jr. passed during the early morning hours of October 3, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn of 60 years and their children, daughter Kelly (husband Babe Serago) and sons Reid and Cole. He was blessed to have nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many loved nieces and nephews and great friends. He lived his life, loved his life and most of all he loved and cared for his family. Although he did manage to find time to work/play in his yard and take care of his cars, dogs, pigeons and finches.   George attended Roosevelt elementary and Phoenix Union High School where he graduated in 1953. He then attended Arizona State University and went to Law School at the University of Arizona where he graduated in 1959. George went on to have a very successful law practice and proudly maintained his license until just a few years before his death. He actively practiced law for over 50 years. Towards his later years he became a very sought after arbitrator and took great pride in having the respect of his peers from both the defense and plaintiffs’ bar. After actively retiring, George pursued a new passion where he served and enjoyed many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He especially enjoyed and loved the people that he worked with in the Church and his work in the Temple. He was loved and adored

and will be missed. We are all comforted to know that he has been reunited with those who have gone before him especially his parents George and Lottie, beloved brother Chris and longest friend John Martin who passed just a few hours prior. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Mormon Church located at 1835 E. Missouri Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85016. If you would like to meet with family, that will precede services in the Relief Society room at 10:00 AM. No flowers are necessary, but as an alternative if you would like, please donate to the Foundation for Blind Children, 1234 E. Northern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85029 or the Church of Jesus Christ Missionary Fund.
