Uncle Mo, 73, born in Phoenix, AZ died unexpectedly August 9, 2011. He served proudly in the US Marine Corp and was a retired City of Phoenix sanitation operator. Uncle Mo often enlightened us with his simple words of wisdom. Our little uncle will be remembered for his huge heart and the love he showed his family. He was always there to help when we needed a little muscle or an extra hand in fixing things, a caregiver or chauffer for his grand-nieces and nephews, a house or dog sitter, and an ear to bend. His smile and laughter were contagious and we all loved to listen to stories of his younger years which he happily recalled for us. He was preceded in death by his parents Hilario and Teresa Sotelo, siblings Carmen Gonzales, Fred, Lily, and Teresa Brown. He is survived by sisters Frances Ojeda and Alice (Art) Torres, and many nieces and nephews who will deeply miss our beloved uncle. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 18th from 6-9pm, with Rosary at 7pm, at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 19th at 10am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 909 S 1st Ave, Phoenix. Interment will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
