Shawn Robert Speroff

SHAWN ROBERT SPEROFF entered into the loving embrace of our Lord on August 4, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 28. He is survived by his mother Joann and father Robert, brothers Ryan and Brandon and many loving family relatives and friends. Shawn ‘E Boy’ was born in Memphis, TN on March 15, 1987. The family moved to Elk Grove, CA a year after that.   He attended elementary school in Elk Grove, CA and returned to Collierville to finish elementary and high school. He graduated from Collierville High School in TN with honors and left a wrestling legacy of multi time State Qualifier, a State Placer and a Commercial Appeal MVP. He then graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA degree in Psychology. He continued to have a passion and enthusiasm for sports and competition. He received his NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer Certificate and was active in physical fitness, nutrition and body building. He was considered by many to be determined, dedicated and accomplished in everything he set out to do especially in his routine workouts at the gym. He loved his job and the people at On-Time Express where he was an Operations Analyst. Shawn was an active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Phoenix where he was involved with the young professionals’ ministry. He was a beautiful person with a kind heart, considerate of others, quiet, thoughtful, fun loving and independent. His reassuring smile would brighten up a room and make you feel happy, too. Shawn invented his own way of eating chicken wings, the “chicken wing slide” and loved Texas Pete on most everything. He could eat a full bag of beef jerky in one sitting and yes, even enjoyed, on a rare occasion, a maple bacon doughnut as a treat. He once wrote, “[…] everything in moderation. Balance is the key to a happy life; however it is by far one of the hardest things to accomplish. Too much of a good thing can ultimately make you unhappy and resentful at that person, thing or activity… so my point is this: if you want to eat a doughnut… eat a doughnut.” This is what he would want for us all, to attain the balance in each and every one of our lives. In his own quiet and steady way, he was able to have a strong impact on those around him. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his family and friends. Arrangements have been finalized for a memorial service celebration to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 16223 S. 48th Street, Phx., AZ 85048.  Visitation begins at 10:00 AM and mass begins at 10:30 AM followed by a reception at the church.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations on behalf of Shawn St. Benedict Catholic Church in Phoenix or the Catholic Church of the Incarnation Special Fund in Memphis.
