Spickler, Viola “Vi”

99, of Phoenix, was born Viola Pohl, July 26, 1912 and was raised in Portland, MI. She passed away peacefully on January 2, 2012. Viola was the last surviving member of her family of nine. In 1936 she married her husband Ralph J. Spickler. She and Ralph had a diverse life on their farm in Romeo, Michigan and also spent approximately ten years in New Orleans, LA where she loved the fresh seafood. After the loss of her husband Ralph in 1981, she moved to Phoenix, AZ where for years she was active as a volunteer at her church and senior center. She is survived by her son Ronald (Dora) two grandchildren Kevin Spickler, and Denise Morn (Daniel) and three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Harper and Autumn. We gratefully acknowledge the extraordinary care given by Hospice of the Valley Northeast location staff and the staff at the East Mesa-Arbor location. Service will be held in East Lansing, MI and she will be laid to rest with Ralph.
