Known best for his kindness and love of family and friends, Robert Blake Steckner, 24, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2021. Robert was born on March 27, 1997, to Bridget Blake and Matt Steckner. Robert spent his life in Arizona, graduating from Notre Dame Preparatory High School in 2015 and the University of Arizona in 2020, where he was a proud member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. Most recently, Robert immensely enjoyed his work as a recruiter for CyberCoders. He excelled in finding new business and connecting with clients in a fantastic environment of amazing colleagues. Tall and athletic, Robert loved playing volleyball, basketball, baseball, and working out. He was a devoted fan of the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, University of Arizona basketball and his fantasy football teams. Robert was blessed to have close and loving relationships with family members throughout his life and was a doting big brother to his adoring sister, Gia. He cared deeply for his beloved dogs Max, Addy, Frank, Hannah, and Lexi. They brought him great joy. Robert was a loyal, dedicated, and generous friend, open-minded and nonjudgmental. He was the light of his parents’ lives and a cherished sibling, grandson, nephew, and cousin. Robert was and will forever be loved dearly.

and aunts and uncles: Kelly and Scott Drablos, Colleen and James Edwards, Maureen and Dr. Daniel Wesche, Sheila and Thomas Brandt, Thomas and Jennifer Blake, Aileen and Thomas Tansor, Lynn and Michael Dean, and Susie and Chris Fiscus. Robert is also survived by cousins: Alana, Katie, Thomas, and Maeve Drablos; Blake, Reilly, and William Edwards; Samantha, Anna, Nicholas, Thomas, Maggie, Grace, Olivia, Nora, Kate, and Charlie Wesche; Michael, Madeline, and Robert Brandt; Quinn and Reilly Blake; Aidan, Patrick, and Claire Tansor; Matthew, Wilson, and Kiera Dean; and Cole and Brady Fiscus.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert and Elisabeth Steckner and grandfather: Thomas Blake. A Funeral Mass for Robert will be said at St. Joan of Arc Church, 3801 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032, on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, where he had previously volunteered, at 420 W.
