Kathy Haberer Tegarden

52, of Laveen, AZ died March 2, 2012. Born March 15, 1959 in Buffalo, New York to Bob and Phyllis Haberer. Attended Squaw Peak Elementary School, Camelback High School, and earned both her BA and MA at Arizona State University. Kathy arrived in AZ in 1964. She was a teacher, principal and administrator, retiring from the Creighton School District August 1, 2011 and a recipient of two Arizona School Board Association Golden Bell Awards for innovation and achieving excellence through academic programs for “Spring Ahead” and “Staggered Start Schedule”. Kathy’s generous spirit was focused around helping others grow and develop. She enjoyed taking her therapy dog, Noche, to classrooms for students with disabilities and helping horses and their owners build strong relationships. She is survived by her husband Fred of 29 years, daughter Christy Tegarden, parents Bob and Phyllis Haberer, brother Rod (Ellen) Haberer, nieces Chelsea and Heather. There will be a Celebration of Life from 12:00-4:00pm, Saturday, March 17 at the Tegarden household. Please email susan_lugo@yahoo.com for details.
