Sharon Louise Thorsby

Sharon Louise Thorsby joined her beloved family and friends in heaven on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was born on January 15, 1955, in Royal Oak, Michigan and was the 4th child to Charles Deforest and Frances (Caudill) Thorsby. Sharon graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School in 1973; she attended Central Michigan University, receiving her Associates Degree in Business.

From her youth, Sharon loved to talk about her memories of camping with her family (including Grandma) in a pop-up tent which made a total of seven along for the adventure! She loved to sing and play the piano; and being the 4th child, she had no problem pushing her way to the “front of the line”! With adventure in her heart, Sharon went to Phoenix to visit a college roommate and soon discovered the beautiful state of Arizona where she would reside for 25 years.

She worked as a legal assistant at various law firms and was dedicated to her profession. Away from work, well…. Sharon was the life of the party!

She always made an “entrance “and everyone wanted to get to know her, they were drawn to her smile and always enjoyed her wit and the contagious laughter that was imminent in her presence.

It was in Phoenix where Sharon met Liz Renteria and they would become life partners (22 years) and in 2016, they were married. Liz was the light in her eyes, they were bonded collectively as soul mates and best friends. Sharon is lovingly remembered by her wife, Liz Renteria; sister Carol (Thorsby) Glover and husband Bob; brother James Thorsby and wife Kristina Scarna-Thorsby. Father and Mother in-law Neto and Ernie Renteria; Brother and Sister-in-law Buck and Mae Renteria. Nephews and nieces and their families: Nathan Pawl, Michelle (Pawl) Gallagher, Greg Glover, Alicia Durga and Jahnna Glover, BJ Renteria and Michael (Renteria) Keller. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Martha (Thorsby) Pawl.

Sharon’s Celebration of Life will be honored on Thursday, November 10, 2022. In lieu of flowers the family kindly suggests contribution to Hospice of the Valley, In memory of Sharon Thorsby, Donate (hov.org).
