Frank M. Velasquez (August 20, 1939—May 7, 2019)
Frank M. Velasquez, born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, was a proud family man, school bus driver, Army veteran, husband, and father. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School and worked for the City of Phoenix before his job as a school bus driver for Creighton School District. Frank was married to the late Teresa Moreno for nearly 30 years, and together, they raised a beautiful daughter, Christina Velasquez.
One of 13 siblings, Frank is survived by his second wife, Dina Velgara, his daughter, Christina, granddaughters Lupita and Jackie, 4 sisters and 2 brothers, dozens of nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and many dear friends who adored him for all 79 years of his hardworking, devoted, full life.
Always the life of the party, Frank knew how to make just about anyone laugh. He loved to dance and was a devout Catholic right up until his passing. In his lifetime, he enthusiastically supported all Arizona sports teams, particularly the Cardinals and the Diamondbacks. He loved his sports, but not nearly as much as he loved his family. There is no doubt he touched many lives, whether it be making them smile, making sure they had something to eat, or just being there for them in times of hardship.
With a firm handshake, infectious smile, and warm presence, Frank was the best husband, father, and family man anyone could ask for. While he is undoubtedly missed, as long as we breathe and our eyes can see, so long lives Frank M. Velasquez, a man loved dearly by all who were blessed to know him. The memories of his joyous life will surely live on through his loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. with a Funeral Service held at 10:30 A.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix.
