Minnie Mae Warren passed away peacefully in her home on June 4, 2020 in Mesa, AZ. She was born December 1, 1925 in Wyatt, Missouri to Sanford and Rosa Lee. She had six brothers and one sister. She was the youngest daughter of an Irish sharecropper. The family was poor but raised with love and strong family values. When WWII took her older brother to war Minnie went to work in the local shoe factory at the age of 16.
After the war was over, she met and later married Samuel L. Warren, her husband of 65 years. They had two children, daughter Kay and son Mike/Sam, 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Minnie loved her Savior Jesus Christ and taught her family Christian values. She was devoted to her family and always actively involved in family gatherings, making sure to make their favorite dishes and desserts. Minnie was loved dearly by numerous nieces and nephews, always looking forward to talking and giggling with them on the phone. She worked various jobs before becoming a realtor and broker.
Minnie was a strong lady who would not let adversity stop her. She was diagnosed legally blind at the age of 75 but did not let that slow her down. After Sam passed, she lived alone doing all her own baking, cooking, cleaning, and gardening. Minnie was lighthearted with a quick sense of humor, sharp as a tack, fiercely independent and had a memory like a steel trap. She loved fishing, shopping, going to Organ Stop Pizza on her birthday, watching the Diamondbacks and spending time with family and friends. Minnie was most famous for her biscuits and gravy, dumplings, cherry wink cookies, and banana cake.
Her faith in God has given her family comfort knowing that she was ready to meet her Savior. She says not to grieve for her because she will be reuniting with loved ones and going to her mansion in Heaven that God has had 94 years to build for her.
