Elsie Westbrook

On Monday July 1, 2019, Elsie Westbrook, loving wife and mother of five children passed away at the age of 99.

Elsie was born December 13, 1919 in Moore, ID to James and Harriet Knighton. She received her Associates Degree in education from Ricks College in 1941. She taught school for a total of eight years, with a year and a half break for a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On January 4, 1950, she was sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple to Francis Chadwick Westbrook. They raised five children; Brent, Linda, Alan, Sheri, and Ken.

Elsie had a passion for serving the Lord, which included a church mission, time spent with her husband as a temple worker, and many loving years teaching primary children. Next to the gospel, her family brought her the most joy and happiness. Time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a highlight of the last few years. Sharing her fondness of music and love of playing the piano with others always could put a smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her father James, her mother Harriet, eternal husband Chad, and eight siblings. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building at 525 E. 2nd Ave Mesa, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the same location at 10:00 A.M., with a visitation starting at 9:00 A.M.
