William E. Hallinan (April 27, 1943-March 28, 2024) born in Morristown, NJ, always remained a "Jersey Boy" at heart. Moving to Tempe, AZ after high school he pursued a degree in Economics at Arizona State University. After earning his degree he was ordered to Hickam AFB in Honolulu to fulfill his commitment to the USAF. This began a lifelong love affair with the Hawaiian Islands.
Upon returning to the Mainland, as a Captain in the USAF, he began his career in finance - beginning with Valley National Bank in Phoenix; Nicholas Kronwall in Tucson; Young, Smith and Peacock in Phoenix and, ultimately, starting his own firm, The Ashling Corporation in Phoenix. Retiring in 1988, Bill turned to his love of travel along with his desire to pursue his interest in theology. In 1998 he received his Masters of Theology from the University of San Francisco.
With his wife, Janet, he enjoyed traveling and spending time at their condo in Maui. Back home in Phoenix he enjoyed attending Alanon, hiking, baseball, giving Bible study at the County Jail, and "talking story" with friends.
He is survived by Janet; grandson Robert Rogers (Andreea); ex-wife, Lana Lucero; daughter Kim Beltz (Bob), son William T. Hallinan; stepson, Dylan Cook (Tracy) and brother-in-law Rodney Casebier (Carol). Aloha my dear Bill, until we meet again.
