John A. (Jack) Wilson, Jr., born January 7, 1940 in Chicago, IL, passed away December 5, 2010 in Scottsdale with his children by his side following a long and courageous battle with colorectal cancer. Jack will forever be a Chicagoan; he moved to Phoenix in 1990. He is preceded in death by his dear parents John and Mary Helen (Etchison) Wilson. Jack is survived by his loving sister, Donna E. Wilson, his former wife Jacqueline Gidley Wilson and six children: Christine (Michael) McRight of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer (John) Lenkiewicz of Orland Park, IL, John A. Wilson III of Schaumburg, IL, Mary Gretchen (Matthew) Baumann of Cedar Rapids, IA, Michael (Daisy Tellez) Wilson of Maricopa, AZ and Peter Etchison Wilson of Oak Lawn, IL. He was the proud grandfather of seven: Emily and Griffin McRight, Michael and Ryan Lenkiewicz, Jack and Katherine Baumann, and Jacqueline Isela Wilson. Visitation will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ (602) 840-5600, Thursday, December 9th from 8-9am, with a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Avenue at 10:00am. Jack and his family will forever be grateful for the loving care provided by many wonderful nurses at Scottsdale Shea Healthcare and Premiere Oncology. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Premiere Oncology Foundation.
