Kay Suzanne Woodward, born August 2, 1947, Topeka Kansas, passed away on November 13, 2019, Phoenix Arizona. To know Kay was to grasp what joy looks like. Silly, mischievous, completely warm and accessible to all, if Kay was present, fun was on the menu. She was ever determined to leave joy in her wake as she pursued her life with a reverence for existence and pure delight in exploring every-day adventures. Her love for cats was also a large component to Kay’s happiness.
Still she never neglected serious things. She was meticulous about her work responsibilities, her person and her charming home. If she said she would do something, she did it. She would hold your hand when things were rough and cheer you to victory and celebrate all your triumphs. The ravages of an illness with which she was born were no doubt often painful, as she endured many surgeries since age 6. But her cheerfulness would belie any suffering she might be experiencing. Kay was courageous, intrepid, fiercely independent and willful. She lived life on her own terms…but always with a commitment to protect her loved ones and friends from any burden. It was her love of the Lord and her faith in Him that carried her through life knowing that she could handle anything thrown her way.
Kay was preceded in death by her father; Thomas Woodward, mother; Hazel Mae Crowley aka Skeeter, brother; Keith Alan Woodward, daughter; Robin Jessica Woodward, and grandson; Cody Brandon. She is survived by her brother; Thomas Craig Woodward, sister-in-law; Linda Woodward, nephew; Travis Woodward, niece; Crystal Woodward-Murphy, great niece; Madison Sell, grandchildren; Anthony Menne, Zachariah Menne and Serena Jimenez, and great grandchildren; Mark and Ronnie.
