It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my mother Barbara Jane Yurick. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Honor Health hospital due to Covid. She was in control of her mental faculties and able to live on her own terms for her 84 years. I was blessed to have her in my life and in my corner. The love of a mother can never be replaced, and we trust in God that she is in a much better place.
Barbara was born on 26 July 1937 and over her 84 years despite many medical issues associated with aging she was blessed to have been able to both keep her independence and mental faculties right to the very end.
She moved from Ohio with her son Stephen and mother Margret back in the 1970’s after her divorce from Martin Yurick. They traveled the country in a brown 1971 Chevy Impala with a black interior and black vinyl top. Barbara was able to support her family on a schoolteacher’s salary. The pinnacle of her career was running the Phoenix Adventure Center for grade school children.
